OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY RELEASES 2024 SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

 
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University softball coach Bob Harris released the upcoming 2024 softball schedule Tuesday, which includes 13 home games at Ambassador Field.
 
The Ambassadors, who finished 6-14 last season, will be fielding a team for only the second time in more than a decade.
 
"We are excited about the upcoming season," Harris said. "Although our numbers aren't what we expected, our team will be improved over our initial season. We will certainly be a better defensive team and our offense is trending in the right direction.
 
"We will be led by our three returning starters, Sydney Arnett, Kaley Fuller and Jana Morrow."

Arnett is Oakwood's top pitcher, while Fuller and Morrow, are the Ambassadors' top outfielder and catcher, respectively.
 
Oakwood opens the season at future Gulf Coast Athletic Conference member Stillman College on Feb. 9, before hosting the Tigers on Feb. 14 and Faulkner University on Feb. 16.
 
The Ambassadors play three of their next four games on the road, but will play four straight games at home, starting with LeMoyne Owen College on March 1.
 
Five of Oakwood's next seven games will be on the road, but the Ambassadors will play four of their last six games at home, including a home game against Alabama A&M on April 17.
