Oakwood University won for the first time this season, sweeping LeMoyne-Owen College 14-1 and 12-5 at Ambassador Field over the weekend to pick up its first two wins.

The Ambassadors did it with a pair of dominant pitching performances from Sidney Arnett while also coming up big offensively enroute to snapping their 10-game losing streak. The wins lifted Oakwood to 2-10 on the season.
 
First Game

Madison Todd (Florence, AL) and Mattie Earl (Holly Pond, AL) combined for six hits and eight RBI in the opener. Todd was 3-for-3 with four RBI and scored three runs, while Earl was 3-for-3 with four RBI and scored two runs.

Kaley Fuller (Trussville, AL) and Jana Morrow (Moody, AL) went 2-for-3 each. Fuller scored a run and stole a base, while Morrow scored two runs.

Arnett (Andalusia, AL) allowed one run on five hits in picking up her first win of the season. She struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter in five innings of work. Offensively, Arnett had a couple of RBI.

Second Game

Fuller and Todd combined for eight hits, five RBI and five runs scored in the nightcap.

Fuller was 4-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBI and stole two bases. Todd was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Morrow and Earl each went 3-for-4. Morrow scored a run and had two RBI, while Earl scored two runs and had four RBI.

Arnett (2-6) got the win, allowing no runs on five hits in four innings. She walked one and struck out eight.

Oakwood is back in action Wednesday, hosting Tennessee Southern at home. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
