JACKSON, Tenn. – Oakwood University struggled offensively as Lane College swept a doubleheader Friday, beating the Ambassadors 8-0 and 12-1 at the West Tennessee Sports Complex.
Oakwood fell to 0-4 on the season. Lane improved to 5-1.
Kaley Fuller (Trussville, AL) had Oakwood's lone hit in the first game, leading off the fourth inning with a single, but the Ambassadors couldn't get her around the score.
Mattie Earl (Holly Pond, AL) walked and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt in the fifth, but the next two batters struck out to end the inning.
Sydney Arnett (Andalusia, AL) took the loss, falling to 0-3. She went 4.1 innings, allowing eight runs, six earned, on 10 hits. Arnett walked five and struck out four.

Ariel Johnson (Jacksonville, FL) had hits in the nightcap.
Johnson singled with one out in the third inning and advanced to second on an error. Johnson scored later in the inning after
Jana Morrow (Moody, AL) reached on an error.
Earl took the loss, falling to 0-1. She allowed nine runs, three earned, on four hits and walked five.
