ROBINSON COMES UP BIG DOWN THE STRETCH AS OAKWOOD OUTLASTS SUNO IN GCAC ROUND UP

MARSHALL, Texas – A'drelin Robinson scored seven of his game-high 18 points in the last two-plus minutes as Oakwood University outlasted Southern University at New Orleans 71-70 Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Round Up at Alumni Gymnasium.

After Caleb Williams scored to pull SUNO within 64-63 with two minutes left, Robinson hit back-to-back jumpers to push Oakwood's lead to 68-63 at the 1:31 mark. Chaun Moore's two free throws cut the lead to three points, but Robinson made two free throws with 34 seconds left to make it 70-65 and added another one with one second left to seal the victory.

The Ambassadors improved to 4-20 overall and 2-11 in league play with the win. The Knights fell to 2-21 and 0-13.

Robinson (Tallahassee, FL) was 5-of-9 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Judelin Prophete (Miami, FL) and Chris Davis (Washington, DC) finished with 12 points and eight rebounds apiece. Prophete also had five blocked shots. Robert Booker II (Laurel, MD) had 11 points and six rebounds.

Oakwood's bench came up big, outscoring the Knights reserves 33-20.

The Ambassadors shot 44.6 percent (29-of-65) from the field, including 33.3 percent (5-of-15) from 3-point range, and 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the free throw line.

Isaiah Sanders led SUNO with 18 points. Devin Daniels had 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Knights shot 45.5 percent (30-of-66) from the field, including 38.5 percent (5-of-13) from beyond the arc, and 50 percent (5-of-10) from the charity stripe.

Oakwood will host Miles College Tuesday night at 7 and will wrap up the regular season Thursday at home against Fisk University.
