Hannah Cohn scored 15 points, but nobody else had more than eight as Oakwood University struggled mightily in a 103-59 loss to Tougaloo College in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Round Up at Alumni Gymnasium at Wiley College Friday afternoon.
It was Oakwood's second loss to Tougaloo this season in as many games. The Bulldogs downed the Ambassadors 80-67 back on Jan. 24 in the GCAC Round Up at Ashby Auditorium at Oakwood University.
The loss dropped Oakwood to 5-18 overall and 3-8 in league play. Tougaloo improved to 5-14 and 4-7.
Tougaloo led 31-11 after the first quarter and was never threatened.
Cohn (Decatur, AL) was 7 of 15 from the field, while the rest of the team finished 16 of 47.
Oakwood shot 37.1 percent (23-of-62) from the field, including 11.8 percent (2-of-17) from 3-point range, and 50 percent (11-of-22) from the free throw line.
Sharise Bridges led Tougaloo with 22 points. Mer'Cedes Miller finished with 21 and Morgan Williams had 11.
The Bulldogs shot 50.7 percent (38-of-75) from the field, including 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from 3-point range, and 58.6 percent (17-of-29) from the charity stripe.
Tougaloo outscored Oakwood 27-12 on points off turnovers, 28-11 on second-chance points and 54-34 in bench points.
Oakwood will take on Wiley College today at 6:30 p.m.
