STILLMAN COLLEGE HANDS OAKWOOD ITS 10TH STRAIGHT LOSS

TUSCALOOSA – Four players finished in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Stillman College handed Oakwood University its 10th consecutive loss Tuesday night in an 88-64 victory at Birthright Alumni Hall.

The Ambassadors fell behind 22-4 midway through the first half and the outcome was never in doubt.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 0-10 on the season. Stillman improved to 6-3.

Amyr Dickerson, Nicholas Kennard, Judelin Prophete and Brian Williams combined for 51 points for the Ambassadors. The rest of the team managed just 13.

Dickerson (Atlanta, GA) finished with 15 points to lead Oakwood. Kennard (Nashville, TN) was next with 13, while Prophete (Miami, Fl) had 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks, while Williams (Colquitt, GA) chipped in with 11 before fouling out.

The Ambassadors shot 37.9 percent (25-of-66) from the field, including 22.7 percent (5-of-22) from 3-point range, and 60 percent (9-of-15) from the free throw line.

Bailey Talley led four Stillman College players in double figures with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Marcus Bates Jr., and Maurice Harvey had 13 points apiece, while Brenden Lankford-Johnson added 12.

The Tigers shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field, including 45.8 percent (11-of-24) from deep, and 77.3 percent (17-of-22) from the charity stripe.

Oakwood is back at home Thursday against Philander Smith University and Saturday against Wiley College in a pair of Gulf Coast Athletic Conference games.
