WILLIAMS, DICKERSON AND PROPHETE COMBINE FOR 51 POINTS AS OAKWOOD FALLS TO MILES COLLEGE

BIRMINGHAM – Brian Williams scored a season-high 21 points and two other players finished in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Oakwood University fell 82-60 to Miles College Saturday night at Knox-Windham Gymnasium.

The Ambassadors trailed just 40-34 at intermission before being outscored 42-26 in the second half.

Oakwood fell to 0-6 with the loss. Miles improved to 3-1.

Williams (Colquitt, GA) was 8-of-16 from the field, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range. He also grabbed five rebounds. Amyr Dickerson (Atlanta, GA) and Judelin Prophete (Miami, FL) had 15 points apiece. Dickerson was 6-of-11 from the field, while Prophete was 7-of-16, grabbed eight rebounds and had two blocks.

The Ambassadors shot 39.1 percent (25-of-64) from the field, including 15.4 percent (4-of-26) from 3-point range, and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line.  Oakwood got only three points from its bench.

The Golden Bears, led by Corey Trotter's 21 points, had four players in double figures. Alvin Miles finished with 19 points, while Mykayle Carter and Truitt Spencer scored 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Miles shot 45.7 percent (32-of-70) from the field, including 30 percent (6-of-20) from 3-point range, and 75 percent (12-of-16) from the free throw line.

Oakwood will try to pick up its first win of the season Tuesday when it visits Cumberland University. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
