Edmen Steward and Nicholas Kennard had solid efforts, but it was not enough Saturday night as Miles College handed Oakwood University its seventh straight loss in a 59-48 setback at Knox-Windham Gymnasium in a men's college basketball game in Birmingham.
Stewart finished with 14 points, while Kennard added 11, but the rest of the Ambassadors combined for just 23 points in the loss.
Oakwood fell 1-9 on the season, while Miles improved to 3-0.
The Ambassadors trailed 31-23 at intermission and couldn't make up the deficit in the second half.
Rodney Battle led the Golden Bears with a game-high 18 points.
Oakwood will try to snap its eight-game losing streak Tuesday night at West Alabama.
