Trenisha Adams and Hannah Cohn scored 15 points apiece, but Stillman College used a big third quarter to break open a close game and went on to down Oakwood University 87-63 Tuesday night at Ashby Auditorium in a women's college basketball game.
The Lady Ambassadors trailed 37-28 at halftime, but the Lady Tigers outscored them 35-11 in the third quarter to break the game open and cruised to the easy victory.
The loss dropped Oakwood to 0-2 on the season. Stillman improved to 1-0.
Adams and Cohn made three 3-pointers apiece. Jayda Caldwell finished with 11 points, while Keziah Dancy and Timara Taylor scored nine points each.
Oakwood shot 37 percent (22-of-58) from the field, including 32 percent (9-of-28) from 3-point range.
Laneja Warren led five Stillman College players in double figures with 12 points.
