Judelin Prophete scored in double figures for the fifth straight game, but Oakwood University never had a chance in a 102-65 loss to Kentucky State University in Frankfort Monday afternoon.
The Thorobreds built a 62-38 lead at intermission and cruised the rest of the way in handing the Ambassadors their fifth straight loss.
Kentucky State is now 1-0 on the season, while Oakwood fell to 1-6.
Prophete (Miami, FL) scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Nicholas Kennard (Antioch, TN) finished with 12 points.
The Ambassadors shot 36 percent (21-of-58) from the field, 30 percent (6-of-20) from 3-point range and 61 percent (11-of-18) from the free throw line.
Jalon Andrews led four KSU players in double figures with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Oakwood is back in action Thursday at Stillman College. The Ambassadors downed the Tigers 50-48 back on Nov. 1 at Ashby Auditorium. It was Oakwood's first win over Stillman in 10 tries.
