Ronnie Abrams is entering his third season as the women’s head basketball coach at Oakwood University.
COACHING CAREER
Abrams joined the Oakwood University staff prior to the 2020-2021 season. He spent his first three seasons as an assistant under women’s basketball coach Aleshia Greene. Greene resigned after the 2022-2023 season and Abrams was elevated to head coach.
PLAYING CAREER
Abrams was a standout performer for the Oakwood men’s team for two seasons.
He helped the Ambassadors win the 2016 United States Collegiate Athletic Association national championship while garnering first-team All-American honors, averaging 14 points and six rebounds per game.
One of only two Oakwood players to earn first-team All-American honors, Abrams earned second-team All-American honors in 2017 when he averaged 16 points, six rebounds and two assists while shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range.
Prior to coming to Oakwood, Abrams was a second-team All-South National Junior College Athletic Association selection at Bishop State Community College in Mobile, AL.
