OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL BATTLES HARD, BUT FALLS TO TUSKEGEE

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Oakwood University battled an NCAA Division II program for the second time in as many nights Wednesday, but the Ambassadors came up short yet again in a 3-0 loss at Tuskegee University inside Chappie James Arena.

Wayne Bucknor's team fell 17-25, 23-25 and 19-25. Tuesday night, Oakwood fell 21-25, 25-23, 17-25 and 16-25 to Miles College, another NCAA Division II program in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 0-4 on the season. Tuskegee improved to 1-4.

Kamaria Murray led the way with 10 kills and 14 digs. Mona Okello and Harmonie Banks finished with six kills apiece.

Alexis Wiley had a match-high 20 assists to go along with nine digs.

Freshman Hannah Daniel tied Murray for team-high honors in digs with 14.

Helena Pommeret led Tuskegee with 11 kills.

Sahnee Dillahunt-Nedd had 13 assists, while Sakiah Logan and Carmyn Lawson finished with 16 and 14 digs, respectively.

Oakwood will try to snap its four-game losing streak Friday when Bryan College comes to town. First serve is set for 3 p.m. inside Ashby Auditorium.
