ARRINGTON, BELL AND JONES NAMED OAKWOOD'S PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Ka'Nijha Arrington, Jordan Bell and Anna Jones have been named Oakwood University's Players of the Week for the week ending March 1.
 
Arrington, Bell and Jones were honored for their performances from February 23-March 1.
 
Arrington, an outfielder on the Ambassadors' softball team, batted .1000 last week, going 3-for-3 with two RBI in a loss to Alabama A&M. A freshman from Stonewall, Miss., Arrington is fourth on the team with a .458 batting average.
 
Bell, a 6-foot-6 senior from Mobile, averaged 17 points on 51 percent shooting, and six rebounds last week as Oakwood made a run to the semifinals of the HBCU Athletic Conference Championship.
 
He also had 10 assists, five steals and two blocks.
 
Bell had 25 points and seven rebounds in a win over Wiley College on Tuesday and followed up that effort with 13 points and five rebounds against Dillard.
 
A first-team All-HBCUAC selection, Bell posted 19 points and eight rebounds in a win over Talladega College and then had 11 points and rebounds in a loss to Tougaloo in the semifinals.
 
Jones, a senior catcher on Oakwood's softball team, batted .1000 last week, going 3-for-3 with two RBI and scored three runs against A&M. A native of Attalla, Jones also had a double and a home run against the Bulldogs.
 
Currently, Jones leads the Ambassadors in RBI (11) and total bases (22) and is second with a .542 batting average.
