OAKWOOD NO MATCH FOR FISK ON SENIOR NIGHT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Oakwood University had four players in double figures, but Fisk University would not be denied on Senior Night as the Bulldogs scored early and often enroute to an easy 107-75 win over the Ambassadors Saturday night in an HBCU Athletic Conference game inside Henderson A. Johnson Arena.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 9-17 overall and 4-7 in league play. Fisk improved to 8-17 and 3-7.

Naftal Morara led the Ambassadors with 15 points. Jordan Bell and Grener Polynice scored 13 points apiece, while Chase Jackson finished with 11.

Oakwood shot 39.1 percent (27-of-69) from the field, including 0-of-16 from 3-point range, and 60 percent (21-of-35) from the free throw line.

Kaleb Jeffries led five Bulldogs in double figures with 33 points off the bench. Nicholas Kennard, a former Oakwood standout, scored 16 points against his former team, while EJ Jointer and Simeon Williams finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Lucious Jackson added 12 points.

Fisk shot a blistering 55.9 percent (38-of-68) from the field, including 50 percent (18-of-36) from beyond the arc, and 77.8 percent (14-of-18) from the charity stripe.
Oakwood is at Rust College Tuesday night to close out the regular season.
