MILES COLLEGE HANDS OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University volleyball, off to its best start in school history, had its three-game winning streak snapped Thursday night.

Miles College came to town and handed the Ambassadors their first loss of the season, coming away with a 3-1 victory inside Ashby Auditorium.

The Golden Bears won 25-22, 24-26, 25-20 and 25-13.

Oakwood fell to 3-1 on the season, while Miles improved to 2-0.

Kamaria Murray led the Ambassadors with a game-high 16 kills. She also had nine digs and two aces.

Cameryn Bucknor posted her second straight double-double, finishing with 17 assists and 10 digs. She also had three kills and an ace.

Morgan Bone backed Murray with seven kills, while Anna Jones had five kills and four digs.

Arial Smith had 14 digs and four ace, while Myah Beasley had 13 digs, two kills and an ace.

Alexis Wiley finished with nine digs.

Karea Copeland led Miles with 14 kills and 14 digs. Jaida Lloyd had 35 assists and 10 digs.

Oakwood is off until next Thursday when Fisk University comes to town for an important HBCU Athletic Conference game. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
