FISK SLOWS DOWN MURRAY TO BEAT OAKWOOD IN HBCUAC ACTION

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Fisk University limited Oakwood University outside hitter Kamaria Murray to just five kills Thursday night as the Bulldogs swept the Ambassadors 3-0 in an HBCU Athletic Conference game inside Ashby Auditorium.

Fisk won 25-13, 25-11 and 25-22.

Murray, the reigning HBCUAC Attacker of the Week, finished with a season-low five kills and managed just four digs on the night.

The loss dropped the Ambassadors to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. It was Oakwood's second straight loss after starting 3-0.

Fisk improved to 10-4 and 1-0 with its fourth straight win.

Anna Jones backed Murray with four kills, while Morgan Bone finished with three.

Cameryn Bucknor had 13 digs and six assists, while Alexis Wiley also had six assists.

Bone added four digs.

Shelby Chamblin led Fisk with a game-high seven kills.

Kaia Barnett had a game-high 20 assists, while Reagan Jones and Nialah Gupton finished with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

Oakwood will try to snap its two-game losing streak Sunday afternoon when it visits Wilberforce University.
