OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 3-0 AFTER OUTLASTING LEMOYNE-OWEN IN HOME OPENER

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Kamaria Murray, Morgan Bone and Harmonie Banks finished with double-digit kills and Cameryn Bucknor and Alexis Wiley posted double-doubles as Oakwood University improved to 3-0 as the Ambassadors outlasted LeMoyne-Owen College Wednesday night 3-2 in their home opener inside Ashby Auditorium.

Oakwood, which trailed 2-1 after the first three games, battled back to win 25-18, 23-25, 27-29, 25-22 and 19-17.

The win lifted the Ambassadors to 3-0 on the season, marking their best start in school history. The Magicians fell to 0-1.

Murray had yet another outstanding game, finishing with a game-high 18 kills, four assists, four aces and two blocks.

Bone and Banks and 13 kills apiece and also had two blocks each.

Bucknor finished with 29 assists, 20 digs and two aces, while Wiley had 14 assists and 16 digs.

Arial Smith had 15 digs and two aces.

Madelyn Ross led LeMoyne-Owen with 12 kills, 19 assists, 15 digs and four aces.

Oakwood is back in action tonight when Miles College invades Ashby Auditorium. First serve is set for 6.
