OAKWOOD, TOUGALOO BATTLE TO 1-1 TIE IN HBCUAC WOMEN'S SOCCER

RIDGELAND, Miss. – Oakwood University and Tougaloo College battled to a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon in their first-ever HBCU Athletic Conference women's soccer game.
 
Jeniah Lewis scored on a penalty kick at the 10:27 mark to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. However, the Ambassadors pulled even when Daiely Regus scored on an assist from Lisa Faith to make it 1-1 at the 89:53 mark.
 
Unfortunately, Oakwood, who outshot Tougaloo 15-6, including 8-5 in shots on goal, couldn't score another goal to pick up its first win.
 
The Ambassadors are now 0-2-1, while the Bulldogs fell to 0-4-1.
 
Norma Rodriguez led the way for Oakwood, finishing with five shots, including three shots on goal.
 
Regus had two shots, including two on goal, and the Ambassadors' first goal of the season.
 
Faith had three shots, including one on goal, and Oakwood's first assist of the season.
 
Oakwood goalkeeper Renee Wisdom allowed one goal, but came up with four saves.
