OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL DOMINATES RUST COLLEGE IN HBCUAC ACTION

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – A day after falling at home to NCAA Division II foe Tuskegee University in five sets, Oakwood University volleyball took out its frustration on Rust College Thursday night.

The Ambassadors got contributions from several players and went on to dominate the Bearcats, winning 3-0 in an HBCU Athletic Conference game inside Kinzell Lawson Gymnasium.

Oakwood won 25-11, 25-15 and 25-23 to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. Rust fell to 0-12 and 0-3.

Kamaria Murray led the way for the Ambassadors with 15 kills. Harmonie Banks and Morgan Bone backed Murray with eight and six kills, respectively.

Cameryn Bucknor and Alexis Wiley finished with double-doubles.

Bucknor had 13 assists and 12 digs, while Wiley had 13 assists and 10 digs.

Arial Smith finished with 10 digs.

Musha Alhassan led the Bearcats with six kills. Cameryn Morris had 7 assists and Jazmin Conner had a game-high 21 digs.

Oakwood is back in action Monday at LeMoyne-Owen College. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
