OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS WILBERFORCE TO SNAP TWO-GAME LOSING STREAK

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Oakwood University volleyball snapped its two-game losing streak Sunday afternoon by beating Wilberforce University 3-0 in an HBCU Athletic Conference game inside Gatson Lewis Arena.

The Ambassadors downed the Bulldogs 25-18, 26-14 and 25-19 enroute to the straight set victory.

Oakwood improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in league play with the win. Wilberforce fell to 1-14 and 1-3.

The Ambassadors got contributions from several players.

Kamaria Murray led the way with a game-high 13 kills. She also had four aces.

Morgan Bone and Harmonie Banks backed Murray with five kills each.

Cameryn Bucknor finished with a game-high 21 assists. She also had seven digs.

Arial Smith had a game-high 12 digs.

Alexis Wiley filled up the stat sheet, finishing with nine assists, four aces and four digs.

Jada Griffin led Wilberforce with 10 kills and 11 digs. Jamaya Johnson and Azra Bute had 13 and 10 assists, respectively.

Oakwood is back in action Wednesday afternoon when it welcomes Tuskegee University to Ashby Auditorium. First serve is set for 4:30.
