SEVEN OAKWOOD STUDENT ATHLETES NAMED 2025 DAKTRONICS NAIA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES FOR SPRING SPORTS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seven Oakwood University student-athletes were recently honored by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as they were named 2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for spring sports.

The honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the spring sports who have excelled academically, including baseball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, track and field, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball and women's beach volleyball.

Oakwood's honorees included four softball players and three baseball players.

Softball honorees include Sydney Arnett and Ashlyn Hallman, both Elementary Education majors, along with Anna Jones and Jana Morrow, who are majoring in English and Social Work, respectively.

Baseball honorees include Jordan Jennings, a Health Sciences major, along with Framber Rodriguez, who is majoring in Pre-Law and Management Information Systems, and Argenis Rosario, an MIS major as well.

To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.

Baseball boasted the highest number of student-athletes, totaling 1,112. Women's track and field and softball followed with totals over 1,000, with 1,074 and 1,024, respectively.
