MURRAY LEADS OAKWOOD PAST RUST COLLEGE IN HBCUAC OPENER

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Kamaria Murray filled up the stat sheet for the second time in as many matches Sunday afternoon as Oakwood University swept Rust College 3-0 in its Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference opener inside Ashby Auditorium.
 
Murray finished with eight kills, seven digs and four aces to help the Ambassadors down the Bearcats 25-13, 25-18 and 25-7.
 
Oakwood improved to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in league play.
 
Anna Jones backed Murray with six kills, while Cequoyah Harris finished with five.
 
Jea Joseph led the Ambassadors with eight digs, while Miriangie Rondon added six.
 
Hannah Wingate led Oakwood with eight aces, while Rondon matched Murray with four.
 
Oakwood's Cameryn Bucknor had a team-high 15 assists.
 
Oakwood is back in action Tuesday at Blue Mountain Christian University. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
