OAKWOOD STRUGGLES IN LOSS TO TALLADEGA COLLEGE

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Oakwood University struggled mightily Thursday night against Talladega College enroute to its first conference loss of the season.

The Tornadoes downed the Ambassadors 3-0 in an HBCUAC match, winning 25-10, 25-8 and 25-11 inside the Hawkins Student Activity Center.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in league play. Talladega improved to 6-4 and 2-0.
Anaya Williams and Kamaria Murray led the Ambassadors with two kills each. Cameryn Bucknor led Oakwood with 10 digs and three assists.

Franchesca Rivas led Talladega with 11 kills. Briyith Echeverri and Stella Lukaszuk had 14 and 10 digs, respectively.

Giovana Costarelli led the way with 19 assists, while Nuria Santos had 15.

Oakwood is back in action Saturday at Welch College.
