ZAXBY'S AGREES TO BECOME SPONSOR FOR OAKWOOD

Oakwood University Athletics is proud to announce that Zaxby's has agreed to serve as a sponsor for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Zaxby's will provide meals for Oakwood University student-athletes who are recognized as Players of the Week during the season. Oakwood, a member of the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NAIA) and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC), fields seven sports, including men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball.

"We are delighted to help support Oakwood University athletics," said Suzanne Uptain, marketing manager for Zaxby's. "We have had a good relationship with (Sports Information Director) Reggie Benson at the elementary school level and we look forward to continuing that at the college level."

Oakwood athletic director Simon Jacob was thrilled that Zaxby's came on board to help support the Ambassadors' athletic programs.

"We hope this is the start of a long and prosperous partnership," Jacob said. "We had a couple of meetings and were able to agree on some things that would be beneficial to both parties. I would like to thank Reggie for spearheading this venture and thank Suzanne and Zaxby's for their interest in Oakwood athletics."
