ROAD WARRIORS - OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY VOLLEYBALL RELEASES 2024 SCHEDULE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University's volleyball team will spend plenty of time on the road this season.

The Ambassadors, who improved dramatically last season under first-year head coach Takhera Sanders, finishing 7-15 overall and 5-11 in league play, will play 20 games away from the friendly confines of Ashby Auditorium. Meanwhile, Oakwood will play 11 home games, including its home-opener against Welch College on Sept. 2.

Effective July 1, Oakwood became a member of the HBCU Athletic Conference and as a result the league split into East and West Divisions.

Oakwood will play in the East Division along with Fisk University, Rust College, Stillman College, Talladega College, Voorhees University and Wilberforce University.

The Ambassadors will play each division team home and home and will play West Division teams, which include Dillard University, Philander Smith University, Southern University New Orleans, Tougaloo College, University of Virgin Islands and Wiley University, once each in pod play for a total of 18 conference games.

Oakwood's first conference game is Sept. 8 at home against Rust College. First serve is set for 1 p.m.

Other home games include Miles College (Sept. 16), Wilberforce University (Sept. 19), Fisk University (Sept. 24), LeMoyne-Owen (Oct. 1), Stillman College (Oct. 5), Talladega College (Oct. 10), UT Southern (Oct. 13), Blue Mountain Christian (Oct. 29) and Tuskegee University (Nov. 5).

The HBCU Athletic Conference tournament will be Oct. 10-13 in Bossier City, La.
