MURRAY, BUCKNOR POWER OAKWOOD PAST STILLMAN IN HBCUAC ACTION

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Kamaria Murray had 13 kills and Cameryn Bucknor finished with another double-double to help power Oakwood University past Stillman College Saturday night in an HBCU Athletic Conference volleyball match inside Ashby Auditorium.

The Ambassadors downed the Tigers 25-14, 25-20 and 25-22. The win helped Oakwood avenge a 3-1 loss to Stillman back on Sept. 17 in Tuscaloosa.

Oakwood improved to 8-11 overall and 6-4 in league play with its second straight win. Stillman fell to 5-13 and 4-5.

Murray, a candidate for Freshman of the Year honors, finished with a game-high 13 assists. Cequoyah Harris and Mona Okello had six and five, respectively.

Bucknor had 25 assists and 15 digs. Myah Beasley had a game-high 17 digs.

Katlyn Lawson led the Tigers with six kills. Kelis Conley posted a double-double, finishing with 10 assists and 10 digs. Emily Powell finished with 14 digs.

Oakwood is back in action Tuesday at LeMoyne-Owen in a non-conference match. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
