OAKWOOD COMES UP SHORT IN FINAL HOME GAME

Huntsville, Ala. – Oakwood University volleyball came up short Tuesday night in its final home game of the season as Blue Mountain Christian University came away with a 3-0 victory inside Ashby Auditorium in a non-conference game.

The Toppers downed the Ambassadors 25-17, 25-16 and 25-9.

Oakwood fell to 10-16 overall after dropping its second straight game. Blue Mountain improved to 19-6.

Kamaria Murray led the Ambassadors with five kills, while Mona Okello and Anna Jones finished with three apiece.

Senior Dorian Birch, playing in her final home game, finished with one kill and three digs.

Cameryn Bucknor had a game-high 13 assists for Oakwood. Bucknor also finished with nine digs, while Okello and Myah Beasley finished with seven apiece.

Helen Roy led the Toppers with nine kills. Hailey Oliver finished with 13 assists, while Daisy Cordle had nine digs.

Oakwood closes out the regular season Saturday at Tennessee Southern. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
