OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL COMES UP SHORT AT BLUE MOUNTAIN

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Oakwood University went toe-to-toe with Blue Mountain Christian University Tuesday night, but came up short in a 3-0 loss inside Tyler Gym.

The Toppers downed the Ambassadors 25-10, 25-19 and 25-15.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 6-11 on the season, while Blue Mountain improved to 11-5.

Cequoyah Harris led the Ambassadors with five kills. Kamaria Murray and Mona Okello finished with four and three, respectively.

Cameryn Bucknor posted a double-double, finishing with 12 digs and 11 assists.

Arial Smith and Anna Jones finished with nine digs apiece, while Murray added seven.

Rae Ann Hall led Blue Mountain with seven kills. Kora Wilson and Kerianna Collins had 15 and 11 digs, respectively.

Peyton Kidd had a game-high 16 assists.

Oakwood visits Rust College Thursday in an HBCU Athletic Conference game at 6 p.m.
