ADAMS, MCNEAL AND WILLIAMS COMBINE FOR 41 POINTS AS OAKWOOD WHIPS SUNO

Trenisha Adams, Jon'Toyrian McNeal and Nekaya Williams combined for 41 points to lead Oakwood University to a convincing 61-45 win over Southern University of New Orleans Thursday night in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game inside Ashby Auditorium.

The Ambassadors improved to 5-10 overall and 3-4 in league play with the victory. The Knights fell to 1-13 and 1-6 with their fourth straight loss.

Adams (Rome, GA) had arguably her most efficient game of the season.

She was 7-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range, grabbed seven rebounds, had six assists, no turnovers and one steal.

McNeal (Houston, TX), in just her third game since becoming eligible, had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Williams (Atlanta, GA) finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block.

The Ambassadors shot 32.1 percent (25-of-78) from the field, including 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from 3-point range, and 60 percent (6-of-10) from the free throw line.

SUNO, who only dressed five players, got 22 points from Jordan Harris and Jashyree Bell finished with 11.

Oakwood hosts Dillard University Saturday at 6 p.m.
