LOPEZ SCORES LONE GOAL AS OAKWOOD FALLS TO FREED-HARDEMAN IN MEN'S SOCCER

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Akio Lopez (Gunma, Japan) scored Oakwood University's lone goal Sunday afternoon in a 5-1 loss to Freed-Hardeman at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

The Ambassadors trailed just 1-0 at halftime, but the Lions outscored them 4-1 in the second half.

"Our lack of depth came into play again," Oakwood coach Frank Davies said. "I've been really pleased with our effort, but we've got to increase our numbers if we're going to be competitive at this level."

The loss dropped Oakwood to 0-3-1 on the season. Freed-Hardeman improved to 5-4-2.

The Lions outshot the Ambassadors 23-11, including 13-2 in shots on goal.

Oakwood goalkeeper Gaston Prophete (Atlanta, GA) had five saves.
