TALLADEGA COLLEGE EXTENDS OAKWOOD'S LOSING STREAK TO FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES

      
 TALLADEGA – Oakwood University came here Tuesday night in hopes of ending its four-game losing streak. Unfortunately, Gulf Coast Athletic Conference newcomer Talladega College had other plans.

The Tornadoes downed the Ambassadors 3-0 at the Dr. Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center. Oakwood fell 16-25, 20-25 and 10-25.

The loss, the Ambassadors' fifth straight after a 2-0 start, dropped Oakwood to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in league play. Talladega College improved to 14-6 and 7-1.

Trinity Williams (Midlothian, TX) led Oakwood with four kills. Cameryn Bucknor (Huntsville, AL) had three, while Anna Jones (Attalla, AL) and Mona Okello (Overland Park, KS) finished with two apiece.

Bucknor finished with a team-high 15 digs and eight assists.

Zyaire Prettie Garrit led Talladega College with 13 kills, while Re'na Ashley finished with 10.

Briyith had a game-high 21 digs, while Giovana Costarelli had 16 assists and Dominique Madarang had 12.

Oakwood is back in action Thursday night at Tougaloo College. First serve is 6.
