BUCKNOR POWERS OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL PAST SUNO IN GCAC ACTION

Cameryn Bucknor recorded a triple-double to help Oakwood University volleyball sweep Southern University of New Orleans Sunday afternoon in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader inside Ashby Auditorium.

Bucknor (Huntsville, AL) finished the day with 30 assists, 11 digs 10 aces and four kills as the Ambassadors won both games 3-0.

With the wins, Oakwood improved to 6-9 overall and 4-6 in league play. SUNO fell to 0-3 and 0-3.
 
First Game
Oakwood won the first game 25-10, 25-8 and 25-10.

Anna Jones (Attalla, AL) led the way with five kills, while Kaayla Butler (Seattle, WA) and Bucknor finished with four apiece. Shaniya Brown (Dallas, TX) had 12 digs and Mona Okello (Overland Park, KS) added eight.

Malaysia Hudson paced SUNO with eight kills. Holly Richardson finished with 13 digs, while Alana Mumphrey had 11 assists.

Second Game
The Ambassadors took the second game 25-5, 25-6 and 25-11.

Trinity Williams (Midlothian, TX) had a team-high six kills, while Tiana Lawerence (Weaver, AL) finished with five. Brown and Demerica Parker (Quinton, AL) had six digs apiece. Miriangle Rondon (Dominican Republic) had six assists and Brown had six aces.

Richardson led SUNO with five kills, while McKenna Harris had five digs.

Oakwood visits Philander Smith and Wiley College this weekend.
