MURRAY, WILEY NAMED OAKWOOD UNIVERSITY'S CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Junior outside hitter Kamaria Murray and senior setter Alexis Wiley have been named Oakwood University's Co-Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 6.

Murray, who hails from Murfreesboro, Tenn., averaged 13 kills and 13 digs in three matches last week. The Ambassadors' leader in kills, Murray had 19 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 loss Tuesday at Miles College, and followed up that effort with 10 kills and 14 digs against Tuskegee University on Wednesday.

Wiley, a native of Sachse, Texas, averaged 23.6 assists and 13 digs per game in three matches last week.

She had 31 assists and 13 digs in a 3-1 loss to Miles College and had 20 assists and nine digs on Wednesday against Tuskegee. Wiley finished with week with 21 assists and 17 digs in a 3-2 loss to Bryan College.

Murray and Wiley will try to help Oakwood (0-5) pick up its first win of the season Tuesday when it takes on LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis. First serve is set for 6 p.m.

The Ambassadors open HBCU Athletic Conference play Thursday at home against Fisk University at 6 p.m. inside Ashby Auditorium.
