OAKWOOD'S DANIEL NAMED HBCUAC VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University defensive specialist Hannah Daniel was named the HBCU Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

Daniel was honored for her play during the week of September 13-17.

A Crosby, Texas native, Daniel averaged 3.75 digs per set in two matches last week.

She recorded 18 in a five-set win over NCAA Division II member LeMoyne-Owen College. In a three-set match against HBCUAC power Fisk University, Daniel finished with 12 digs. She also contributed three service aces, two assists and a kill.

Daniel currently leads the team with 90 digs and is second on the team with nine service aces.
