OAKWOOD DOMINATES TOUGALOO, RUNS WINNING STREAK TO THREE STRAIGHT GAMES

TOUGALOO, Miss. – Oakwood University continued its hot play Thursday night with a dominating 80-58 victory over Tougaloo College inside the Owens Health and Wellness Center & Kroger Gymnasium.
 
The Ambassadors ran their winning streak to three straight games and have won eight of their last 10 contests to improve to 14-6 overall. The Bulldogs fell to 8-12.
 
Shaniya Sanders led the way for Oakwood, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds. She was 5-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, while making all four of her free throw attempts.
 
Kamaria Murray finished with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. She also had six rebounds and three assists.
 
Trenisha Adams had 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Saniya Keys and Maliyah Hughes scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
 
The Ambassadors shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64) from the field, including 39.3 percent (11-of-28) from 3-point range, and 80.8 percent (21-of-26) from the free throw line.
 
Shalayne Morgan led Tougaloo with a game-high 29 points, while Bre'Nai Amos finished with 12.
 
The Bulldogs shot 31.4 percent (22-of-70) from the field, including 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from beyond the arc, and 75 percent (9-of-12) from the charity stripe.
 
Oakwood is at Dillard University Saturday.
