ADAMS NAMED OAKWOOD'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Trenisha Adams, a 5-foot-5 senior guard from Rome, Ga., has been named Oakwood University's Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 18.
 
Adams, who joined the 1,000-point club last week, led the Ambassadors to a perfect 3-0 record, helping Oakwood down Southeastern Baptist College, Talladega College and Voorhees University.
 
She averaged 18.3 points per game, while shooting 63.3 percent (19-of-30) from the field, including 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from 3-point range.
 
Adams also had seven rebounds, eight assists and nine steals.
 
In Oakwood's 87-45 win over Southeastern Baptist, Adams had 14 points, three assists and two rebounds.
 
She scored 22 points to go along with four assists and five steals in a 72-56 win over Talladega College and followed up that effort with 19 points, four rebounds and four steals in an 84-60 win over Voorhees University.
 
Oakwood is currently 11-5 overall and 7-0 in HBCU Athletic Conference play. The Ambassadors will put their six-game winning streak on the line Tuesday when they visit Stillman College.
