OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL DOWNS WILBERFORCE IN STRAIGHT SETS IN HBCUAC ACTION

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University downed Wilberforce University in straight sets Thursday night inside Ashby Auditorium in an HBCU Athletic Conference volleyball match.
 
The Ambassadors beat the Bulldogs 25-22, 25-16 and 25-23.
 
Oakwood improved to 11-8 overall and 6-3 in league play, while Wilberforce fell to 2-19 and 2-5.
 
Kamaria Murray led the Ambassadors with five kills. Harmonie Banks and Mona Okello had four and three, respectively.
 
Cameryn Bucknor had six assists, while Alexis Wiley finished with five.
 
Bucknor had eight digs, while Arial Smith finished with seven. Murray had five, while Myah Beasley and Wiley had four each.
 
Jamika Coleman led the Bulldogs with eight kills.
 
Azra Bute had a game-high 17 assists, while Anani Sheppard had 10 digs.
 
Oakwood is off until Oct. 30 when it hosts Rust College in its final HBCUAC game of the season. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
