DAVIS, THOMPSON SCORE TWO GOALS EACH TO POWER OAKWOOD MEN'S SOCCER PAST TOUGALOO IN HBCUAC GAME

HUNTSVILLE – Alessandro Davis and David Thompson scored two goals apiece to power Oakwood University men's soccer to a dominating 7-0 win over Tougaloo College Sunday afternoon at University Field in an HBCU Athletic Conference game.
 
The win lifted the Ambassadors to 2-5 overall and 2-1 in league play, while the Bulldogs fell to 1-3 and 1-2.
 
Moral Uwineza scored on an unassisted goal in the ninth minute to give Oakwood an early 1-0 lead.
 
Davis scored on an assist from Joel Sotomayor to make it 2-0 in the 14th minute and Sotomayor assisted on Thompson's first goal in the 22nd minute put the Ambassadors up 3-0.
 
Isaac Abrahams, who has been Oakwood's best player this season, assisted on the Ambassadors' next three goals to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
 
Davis scored in the 29 minute, followed by Thomson's goal in the 43rd minute.
 
Rajae Brooks got in on the scoring in the 63rd minute to make it 6-0.
 
Michee Florimond rounded out the scoring on an assist from Shyaka Gakwerere in the 81st minute.
 
Neriah Bean got the win in goal, allowing just five shots, including three on goal, with three saves.
 
Oakwood is back in action Oct. 29 at Talladega College.
