OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO STILLMAN IN HBCUAC ACTION

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – One night after beating Miles College, an NCAA Division II program, Oakwood University came up short Tuesday night in an HBCU Athletic Conference match against Stillman College.

The Tigers downed the Ambassadors 3-1, winning 25-22, 21-25, 25-12 and 25-22 inside Birthright Alumni Hall. It was Stillman's first win over Oakwood since 2022.

The loss dropped the Ambassadors to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in league play. The Tigers improved to 3-7 and 2-1.

Mona Okello and Kamaria Murray led Oakwood with seven kills each. Cequoyah Harris had five and Hannah Wingate finished with four.

Okello and Wingate had four aces apiece.

Cameryn Bucknor posted a double-double, finishing with 11 digs and 22 assists. Anna Jones had six digs, while Okello and Myah Beasley had five each.

Ava Cameron led Stillman with 10 kills.

Kelis Conley had 10 digs and 21 assists. Erin Nelson had 14 assists, while Emily Powell and Paige Eason finished with 20 and 17 digs, respectively.

Oakwood hosts Wilberforce University Thursday night in HBCUAC action. First serve is set for 6.
