JACKSON NAMED HBCUAC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University's Chase Jackson was named the HBCU Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, league officials announced today.

Jackson was recognized for his performances from Dec. 16-22.

A 5-foot-8 point guard from Harvest, Ala., Jackson scored 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, handed out three assists and two steals in Oakwood's HBCUAC Crossover finale against Tougaloo College last Monday. He finished the first half of the season with 60 points, 20 steals and two blocks.

It is the second time Jackson has picked up the honor.
