OAKWOOD VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO FISK IN STRAIGHT SETS IN WILLIAMS' RETURN

 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fisk University spoiled the return of Oakwood University freshman sensation Trinity Williams Thursday night.

Williams, who had missed the last three-plus games with a sprained wrist, returned but wasn't much of a factor as the Bulldogs downed the Ambassadors 3-0 at Henderson A. Johnson Arena in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game.

 Fisk won 25-10, 25-12 and 25-20.

The loss dropped Oakwood to 7-14 overall and 5-11 in league play. Fisk, which swept the season series, improved to 19-12 and 13-3.

Dorian Birch (Ooltewah, TN), Anna Jones (Attalla, AL) and Williams (Midlothian, TX) led Oakwood with four kills apiece. Jones had 11 digs, while Williams finished with seven. Cameryn Bucknor (Huntsville, AL) had nine assists.

Iyanla Thigpen led Fisk with 15 kills. Jadyn Brackins had 18 digs, while Nebthet Re finished with 23 assists.

Oakwood awaits word on who it will play in the GCAC Tournament next month in Bossier City, La.
